Boat deck natural flexing

Why do You Use a Tongue and Groove rather than a Shiplap Connection?

A tongue and groove connection is by far the most effective connection to overcome the natural flexing of a boat deck. Compare this to a shiplap connection which easily opens when flexed, and you have a long-term deck that will not crack or disconnect from the surface of your deck. Tongue and groove is available for the DIY materials, otherwise it is a standard 'welded' system.
